Sunday Morning Series - Victory for Doubters - Reasonings

Text: Mark 2:1-12 & others.

Definition of Reasoning - (1) the act or process of a person who reasons. (2) the process of forming conclusions, judgments, or inferences from facts or premises. (3) the reasons, arguments, proofs, etc., resulting from this process.

Dialogizomai - to reckon thoroughly, to deliberate (by reflection or discussion), consider, dispute, muse, reason, think.

The Pharisees were happy to be near Jesus until something outside of the scope of their understanding occurred. When you criticize, you take facts and come to a conclusion. If Satan can corrupt the path by which faith comes (hearing), he can create doubt.

How do you get rid of doubt? Think about an empty glass. It contains air, but as you fill it with water, the air is displaced. If you get faith inside you, the doubt leaves. The only thing that can bring faith in is hearing the Word. All we need for doubt to come in is to see something we do not understand and begin reasoning.
