Text: 2 Samuel 23:20-23
A week ago, we enjoyed four wonderful days with Jay and Tammy Hoskins. Many received physical healings and others moved to a greater understanding of God's Word.
Once we've received something from God, the enemy or those who don't want us to be blessed will rise up to take it or get it away from us. How do we retain what we've gained and continue to move forward?
Some of the tactics the enemy will use to rob us include pressure by what we feel or pressure by what we fear. When you are on the offense, you make decisions by principle, not by pressure.
In 2 Samuel 23:20-23, Benaiah (God Built) kills a lion by going into a pit. Others killed lions. David killed one protecting his sheep. Samson killed one in self defense. Daniel faced lions because he was thrown into their den. But Benaiah jumped into the pit voluntarily and killed the lion.
When we have battled a condition for a long time, we can feel like we are in a pit with a lion, something that wants to kill us, and we have no escape. Our attitude is more like one who fell into the pit instead of one who jumped into it. How do we know which attitude we're exhibiting? If we listen to how we're praying, we'll know. Are they cries for help or prayers for victory? Our attitudes shape our future.
