Am I steady in my beliefs (open to new revelation but resistant to deception) or stubborn and unmovable (keep truth out) in the things of God? The opposition:
1) The enemy wants to...
a) deceive me
b) pervert the Word in me
c) steal the Word from me
d) kill the life of God in me.
2) Overall, he wants to neutralize me - make me ineffective.
In Mark 3:1-6, the religious leaders expected Jesus to heal the man. They had become so calloused that they preferred their doctrine over helping people.
Which is more important - doctrine or people? If you say, "doctrine," you'll act like the Pharisees. If you say, "people," you'll be moved off your principles. They answer is, "neither." Jesus had a balance of doctrine and serving people. How ironic that the Pharisees plotted how to murder someone on the Sabbath, who wanted to heal.
