Are You Ready? Preparing For Miracles!

Text:  Mark 5:25-34

The Word tells us that "God gave gifts to men," and when one of those gifts comes to town, what do we do to get ready?

In Mark 5, the woman with the issue of blood had gone to many doctors and suffered a great deal. She went to each one with the expectation of being helped. When she heard about Jesus, she went not only with an expectation that something might happen but also an anticipation. The dictionary defines anticipation as a realization in advance. She went to Him and acted by touching the hem of His garment.

Expectation without anticipation is just talk. Too often we hear about Jesus healing but don't do anything about it. There's no excitement, no anticipation to move us forward.

When we went to Florida, my daughter and son-in-law prepared our 2-year-old grandchild. They told her where we were going, about Disney World, and about all the animals. She started telling her little friends and everyone else that she was going to Florida and about the activities that awaited us. Every day she grew more excited. She anticipated all the good things ahead.

Enemies of Expectation:

1.  Failure
2.  False doctrine
3.  Frustration
4.  Friends

Once your expectation is off the Word, it takes effort and intention to put it back. Too often Christians waste time denying what is real instead of establishing the goal.

Believe. Something shared/taught will open your eyes. Be on the look out for something to engage your faith and disconnect your doubts. When it happens, what action comes up in your spirit? With Blind Bartimaeus, he cried out to Jesus when He came near and cast aside his beggar's cloak.

Proclaim. If we truly expect something to happen, we cannot help but share it! The four friends brought the lame man. They even tore up the man's roof to get him to Jesus.
