Sunday Series - Reigning in Life - A Common Anchor

People think of anchors as holding them firmly in one place. But an anchor can also be something that is relied on, a mainstay. As believers, we have truths (anchors) that we can depend upon.

Pastor Stephen Hecht read from Romans 14:1-14. This scripture talks about receiving those who are weak. What makes one weak? Believing something inaccurate can make a person weak. The amount of correct knowledge is what determines our spiritual strength and brings life as opposed to bondage. What you think on a subject is important to your freedom and ability to reign in life.

One of the areas where it is important to have a right knowledge base is righteousness. If someone asks us if we're righteous, what should be our reply? Do we feel we're being prideful if we say we're righteous? Well, if we're thinking it's our own righteousness, sure we're being prideful and mistaken. However, if we recognize it's not our righteousness that clothes us but His, then it's perfectly legitimate to say we're righteous. When we're established in the light of God's truth, we'll be able to walk in freedom.
