Text: II Timothy 2:14-22 & Others
Sanctification involves our presentation to God: Approved, not ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth, shunning profane and idle babblings. Our words must be backed up by a godly life.
This scripture also tells us in a great house there are vessels of gold and silver, wood and clay. Today, we might have a set of fine china, everyday dishes, and paper plates. It's up to us which we want to be. Verse 24 says that if a man purges himself...
Note that sanctification (holiness) doesn't occur until after we've received salvation by grace through faith in Jesus. We cannot earn forgiveness. (Eph. 2:8 & 9).
According to Galatians 5:19-21, there are three types of works: 1) Those that are carnal. These are people who sin and don't care who knows about it. 2) That which is concealed. People that haven't changed, but hide it. They try to exhibit fruit, but it's fake. 3) That which is changed from bad to good. True fruit cannot be faked. God wants fruit that is useful.
