Review
1) The difference between stubborn and stable: who's right in God's eyes and who is wrong.
2) If you hear words of correction as condemnation, you probably have a hard heart.
3) When we hear the Word, we'll either mix it with faith or unbelief. How do we know which one we're blending with the Word? Those who act on the Word are those who are mixing it with faith.
Suffering
Can you say you've suffered? If just the suffering was all that was needed, would you be at the head of the class? What is lacking then? Obedience.
Hebrews 5:8 talks about learning through suffering. I Peter 3:13-17 talks about you're blessed if you take ill treatment for doing good. God does not bring the suffering upon us, but will use it if we take it patiently and trust Him.
What types of suffering are beneficial?
1) In your testimony. I Peter 4:12-19
2) In your faith. I Timothy 4:1-11
3) In your obedience. Hebrews 5:5-14
