Text: John 6:22-71
After Jesus fed the 5,000 in John 5, something changed in their attitude. They didn't leave afterward, but sought Jesus. He tells them why they're seeking him. No longer are they looking for signs and wonders, but they're looking for a free meal.
In John 6:27, He says, "Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life..." They ask Him what sign He will perform (V. 30) and refer to manna in the desert rather than bread from heaven.
They are talking about natural things, while Jesus is speaking about spiritual things. Eventually, many leave because they cannot understand His teaching.
Many things will come to us in life for which we lack understanding - revelations, situations, complications, persecutions. We have three choices:
1) Bolt - leave the way they did
2) Bluff - stick around and fake understanding
3) Bunk - stay until you "get it."
