Text: Numbers 16
When we operate outside of submission, we operate in the area of rebellion. It affects everyone around us.
Korah is actually a cousin of Moses and a Levite. Somewhere along the line, he lost sight of the importance of what he was called to do. People who don't think their calling is of value start looking around for someone who is respected. They envy those people and seek their position.
Dathan and Abiram listen to Korah. When Moses calls them to a meeting, they refuse and accuse him of acting like a prince over the people. To think this way involves adopting certain views:
1. Understand - You understand everything about the position and what they face.
2. Withstand - You could hold up under the assault of that position.
3. Right Standing - You are not called to stand in that position.
When Moses tells them to do the job they think they should have, they didn't check the Law to see what to do.
1. Instead they crafted bronze censors. Bronze was the material used in the area of the temple for sin.
2. Aaron brought a censor made of gold.
The one served where sin consciousness was strong, while gold is a type of the risen Christ and of His finished work.
