Text: 2 Corinthians 10:1-6
Last week, we talked about the origins of attacks. They are seldom about things. Most often they are about principles and precedents.
For example, when I worked for the pizza place while going to Bible School, I made it clear that I would work Fridays and Saturdays but not Sunday. They agreed to this arrangement, and I carried out my part of the bargain. Well, there came a time when they needed someone to work Sunday, and they asked me. I stood my ground, and said, "I don't work Sundays." If I had worked, I would have set a precedent, compromised my principles, and found myself on the regular schedule for Sundays.
Now, don't get me wrong, there are occupations where it's necessary to work on Sunday like hospitals and nursing homes. In fact, Sunday work is required and part of the deal. However, no one is going to die if a pizza place is short handed.
Attacks are designed to damage or destroy our fellowship with God by building a distrust of:
A) His Word
B) His Love
C) His Plans
They also come against our community with others by building suspicion of:
A) Their Word
B) Their Love
C) Their Intentions
And to stir up in us:
A) Unbelief
B) Hate
C) Pride
D) Fear
