Text: Mark 5:21-36
Today (5/24/15) is Pentecost Sunday. After His resurrection, Jesus appeared to 500 people and instructed them to go to Jerusalem and wait until the Holy Ghost was poured out. When the time came, only 120 were in the Upper Room. 380 people didn't show up.
They had a revelation, but didn't act on it. We'll see from today's story of the woman with the issue of blood how she responded to the revelation she got. Like these folks, you can get a revelation, but it's important what you do with it.
We need to spend some time building up principles that our belief can grasp. The less Word you know, the longer this will take.
1) Do you have to be taught?
2) Or just reminded?
You have to be hungry - this is not casual. How desperate you need to be before you get this hungry will vary, but the more mature you become, the less desperate you need to be. Get the teaching on healing, finances, and other subjects now before you enter a time of crisis.
The woman's problem was clearly stated: she had an issue of blood for 12 years. There is a difference between simply stating a problem you have and taking ownership of it. It is not just about the words you use, but what you believe in your heart.
What is necessary to develop the kind of belief we're talking about:
1) Meditate on it and develop beliefs in line with the truth.
2) Then proclaim what you believe (confession).
The woman with the issue of blood did her part:
1) She believed
2) She got to where Jesus was
3) She acted by touching the hem of His garment.
