Text: Exodus 5:1-6:13
When Satan gets in your life, it's like a government agency. Everything becomes difficult an expensive.
There are three primary ways the enemy comes into your thoughts:
1. Fear - This emotion can keep you from moving into your calling. Aaron was a slave in Egypt along with the other Hebrews. He finds a way to escape and goes to Moses. Then Moses informs him that God is sending them to deliver their brethren from oppression.
Aaron must have thought what the consequences would be if he returned to Egypt. He might end up a slave again. Fear is always rooted in the here and now. He's afraid now.
2. Doubt - When Pharaoh refuses to let the Hebrews go and makes their lives more difficult, Moses asks God, "Why have You brought trouble..." God didn't bring any trouble to the Hebrews, Pharaoh did. When people face difficulties, they immediately blame God. They ignore the part Satan and individuals have in producing evil.
Doubt deals with things of the past.
3. Anxiety - Chapter 5:14-16 - Pharaoh must not know what is going on and how much harder their lives have become.
Verses 17-19 show Pharaoh did know. When they realize the top ruler is making their lives worse, the people blame Moses. Anxiety deals with the future.
