The love of God has been put in you for the purpose of it coming out. God will help us to bring this out, but other things work to bring other reactions to the surface. Suppressing things like anger is not the same thing as walking in love.
The love of God is a balanced love. (Mark 12:30-31 and Matthew 22:34-40)
1. On one side of the road is a rut where loving ourselves is our primary goal. It is selfishness.
2. On the other side of the road is a rut of self denial and only thinking of others. It is a flesh type of religion.
The enemy wants to draw on the flesh, while God wants to pull out love and faith. The devil doesn't care whether it's people or things that you love more than God. To get you into sin, the enemy has to get you out of the love of God and walking in the flesh.
