How do unselfish people become selfish?
1. Luke 22:31-34, 59-62 - At first, Peter is willing to give it all for the Lord, but something changes in a few hours. Now he lies and even curses to protect his own life.
2. He might lose something he wants. If we have a penny, we might not value it very highly. However, if someone comes along and tells us that penny is rare and worth a lot of money, our opinion would change.
What are some of the things we change our mind on after further examination?
1. Obedience - We agree with the Word of God and obey it until faced with a situation where it becomes inconvenient or goes against our will.
2. Direction - We follow God's direction until it requires a sacrifice on our part.
3. Kindness - We treat others with kindness until it requires more effort.
